Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Executive Dean of the Graduate School to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction in advancing the academic and operational excellence of our graduate programs. This role involves fostering an inclusive and innovative academic environment that promotes research, scholarship, and student success across diverse disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the quality and reputation of the Graduate School's academic programs
- Lead the recruitment, retention, and professional development of faculty and staff to ensure a high-performing team
- Oversee the budget and resource allocation for graduate programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals
- Advocate for graduate education within the institution and with external stakeholders, including alumni, industry partners, and accreditation bodies
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Graduate School community
- Collaborate with academic departments to enhance interdisciplinary research and educational opportunities
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through data-driven assessment and continuous improvement
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education administration, with significant experience in graduate program leadership
- Proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution in an academic setting
- Strong understanding of accreditation processes and regulatory requirements for graduate education
Preferred:
- Experience in fostering partnerships with industry and other educational institutions
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in higher education
- Record of scholarly achievement and research funding
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis and assessment tools to inform decision-making and program evaluation
- Familiarity with learning management systems and academic technologies that support graduate education
