Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead our geotechnical engineering team in delivering innovative solutions for complex projects. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing advanced geotechnical analyses, managing project execution, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians in the execution of site investigations, laboratory testing, and engineering analyses
- Provide technical direction and oversight for geotechnical aspects of projects, including foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated project solutions and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle
- Drive the implementation of best practices and innovative methodologies in geotechnical engineering
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project presentations for stakeholders
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to achieve project milestones and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record in project management and team leadership
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Deep understanding of geotechnical design methods, site investigation techniques, and soil mechanics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or equivalent
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable engineering practices
- Familiarity with construction methods and materials related to geotechnical applications
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software and modeling tools
- Expertise in data interpretation and geotechnical risk assessment
- Experience with project management software for resource and budget tracking
