Responsibilities
- Assist in patient evaluations and assessments to determine foot and ankle conditions
- Collaborate with senior orthopedists in developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Support surgical procedures by preparing instruments, managing patient flow, and ensuring a sterile environment
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary under supervision
- Participate in patient education, explaining conditions and treatment options to ensure understanding
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices to enhance patient outcomes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency in podiatric medicine and surgery
- Strong interest in foot and ankle biomechanics and pathology
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical setting through internships or rotations
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures and techniques
- Experience with diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs) in evaluating foot and ankle conditions
- Proficiency with EMR systems and patient management software
