Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Flat Sorting Machine Clerk to oversee the operation of sorting machines in our facility. In this role, you will ensure the efficient processing of letters and parcels while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. You will lead a team of clerks, providing guidance and support to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of flat sorting machines, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Train and mentor team members on machine operations, safety protocols, and best practices to enhance productivity.
- Monitor sorting processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of machine performance, operational metrics, and team productivity.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions promptly.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sorting efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in mail processing or operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of flat sorting machinery and operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and liaise with other departments.
Preferred:
- Experience with automated sorting systems and operational software.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency in a sorting or logistics environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of flat sorting machines.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
