Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of carpenters, providing guidance on best practices and craftsmanship techniques
- Plan, layout, and execute complex woodworking projects, translating blueprints and specifications into functional structures
- Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials
- Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met
- Maintain an organized and efficient work environment, including managing tools and materials
- Implement innovative carpentry techniques and encourage continuous improvement within the team
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in carpentry, with a proven track record of managing complex projects
- Extensive knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Experience with project management and team leadership
- Certifications in carpentry or related fields
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and materials
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of carpentry tools, including power tools, hand tools, and machinery
- Experience with CAD software for project design and planning
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
