Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Supervisor specializing in Carpentry to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. This role is critical in ensuring that all carpentry work is executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency while managing subcontractors and maintaining project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Review and approve project plans, schedules, and budgets, making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior carpenters and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Manage materials procurement, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.
- Address on-site issues promptly and effectively, implementing solutions that minimize delays and costs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in carpentry and construction supervision, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflicts.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with residential and commercial construction projects.
- Certification in construction management or relevant trade.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and materials.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
