Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Exploration Manager to lead our exploration initiatives, driving the discovery of new resources and optimizing our exploration strategies. You will be responsible for managing exploration projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while leveraging innovative technologies to maximize resource potential.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage exploration projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resource optimization.
- Develop and implement exploration strategies, utilizing advanced geological and geophysical techniques to identify potential resource deposits.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, engineers, and environmental specialists, to drive project success.
- Analyze exploration data and generate detailed reports, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices throughout the exploration process.
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the exploration team, promoting sustainable practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mineral exploration, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and resource estimation methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced exploration technologies, such as remote sensing and geospatial analysis.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in exploration.
- Professional certifications such as Professional Geologist (PG) or equivalent.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Surpac).
- Strong understanding of geophysical methods and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
