Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished academic leader to fill the position of Endowed Chair in Cultural Anthropology. This role is pivotal in advancing research and scholarship in cultural anthropology, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of anthropologists. You will have the opportunity to shape academic programs, engage with diverse communities, and contribute to impactful research initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct innovative research that contributes to the field of cultural anthropology, addressing contemporary social issues and cultural dynamics.
- Develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in cultural anthropology, ensuring a rigorous and inclusive curriculum.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and junior faculty, fostering their academic and professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to promote interdisciplinary research initiatives and community engagement.
- Publish research findings in leading academic journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to departmental and university service, including committee participation and outreach efforts.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Anthropology or a closely related field, with a focus on cultural anthropology.
- A distinguished record of research, scholarship, and publication in cultural anthropology.
- Experience in teaching at the university level, with a commitment to inclusive pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and manage research projects effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in leading academic programs or initiatives.
