Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Enroute Controller to lead our air traffic control operations. In this critical role, you will oversee and manage the safe and efficient flow of air traffic within your designated airspace, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and operational procedures. Your leadership will be essential in mentoring and developing junior controllers while fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of enroute controllers, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Ensure optimal air traffic management by analyzing and adjusting traffic flow in real-time
- Collaborate with other operational units to enhance system efficiency and safety
- Lead incident investigations and develop strategies for continuous improvement
- Facilitate training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- FAA certification as a professional air traffic controller
- 5+ years of experience in air traffic control operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and safety standards
- Proven ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced air traffic management systems and technologies
- Leadership experience in a high-volume air traffic environment
- Certification in air traffic control training or instructional techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in air traffic control simulation software and radar systems
- Familiarity with flight planning and air traffic management systems
- Strong analytical skills to assess and optimize traffic flow
