Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Endoscopy Technician to oversee the endoscopy department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency. In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated technicians, manage equipment, and collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to deliver exceptional service within our healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of endoscopy technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to achieve clinical excellence.
- Ensure the proper preparation, maintenance, and sterilization of endoscopic equipment and instruments in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Coordinate and schedule endoscopic procedures, ensuring optimal use of resources and timely patient care delivery.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate smooth procedural workflows and address any clinical concerns.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, implementing best practices in quality assurance and safety.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Endoscopy Technician (CET) or equivalent certification.
- 5+ years of experience in endoscopy or a related clinical setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of endoscopic procedures, instrumentation, and sterile processing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Experience with endoscopy equipment technology and troubleshooting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in endoscopic equipment operations and maintenance, including video systems and imaging technologies.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and their integration into clinical workflows.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and guidelines specific to endoscopy.
