Role Overview
As the Chief Pilot for EMS Rotary Wing operations at [$COMPANY_NAME], you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance in our air medical transport services. Responsibilities
- Lead the EMS Rotary Wing team, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and safety standards while fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- Oversee the training and evaluation of pilot performance, ensuring all pilots meet the operational readiness and safety requirements of the organization.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for flight operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory expectations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to proactively identify potential flight operation hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with medical personnel and ground operations to ensure seamless patient transport and care during flights.
- Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and maintaining necessary certifications.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pilot in EMS operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter rating and Instrument Rating.
- Significant flight experience, including a minimum of 1,500 flight hours with at least 500 hours in rotary wing aircraft.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and emergency response protocols.
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Chief Pilot or similar leadership role in an EMS or air medical transport organization.
- Advanced aviation certifications (e.g., ATP, CFII).
- Experience in developing training programs and conducting safety training for flight crews.
