Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electromedical Equipment Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of advanced electromedical devices within our organization. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, while also optimizing equipment performance to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the maintenance and operational functionality of electromedical equipment, ensuring all devices meet regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Lead a team of biomedical technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of electromedical systems.
- Establish maintenance schedules, documentation practices, and standard operating procedures to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to assess equipment needs and provide training on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of replacement parts and supplies, ensuring timely procurement to minimize equipment downtime.
- Stay current with technological advancements and regulatory changes in electromedical equipment, implementing best practices across the department.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the maintenance and supervision of electromedical equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge of various electromedical devices and systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team of technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Certification from a recognized biomedical equipment technician (BMET) program.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, particularly in hospitals or clinics.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory requirements such as FDA, ISO 13485.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in the calibration and maintenance of electromedical equipment, including MRI machines, ultrasound devices, and defibrillators.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing tools to assess equipment performance.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems as they pertain to medical devices.
