Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our cutting-edge medical equipment. In this fully remote role, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the operational efficiency and regulatory compliance of our biomedical devices, ultimately enhancing patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive biomedical equipment management program, including lifecycle planning, risk management, and compliance with health regulations.
- Supervise maintenance and repair activities to ensure maximum uptime and functionality of biomedical devices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of equipment performance, prioritizing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to evaluate and procure new equipment, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and budgets.
- Provide training and support for clinical staff on the proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in biomedical equipment management or clinical engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of medical equipment regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and their integration with medical devices.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology management software and tools.
- Experience leading projects or initiatives related to biomedical equipment optimization.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in medical imaging systems, patient monitoring devices, and laboratory equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as they pertain to medical devices.
- Experience with data management and analytics tools for tracking equipment performance and maintenance schedules.
