Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Durable Medical Equipment Repair Supervisor to oversee our remote team dedicated to maintaining and repairing a wide range of medical equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service, compliance with industry regulations, and the continuous improvement of repair processes. Your leadership will be critical in fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a remote team of technicians responsible for the repair and maintenance of durable medical equipment, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment repair, testing, and quality assurance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide mentorship, and facilitate training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Oversee the troubleshooting and repair processes, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve repair turnaround times and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory management of repair parts and supplies, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze repair data to identify trends and implement process improvements aimed at reducing equipment downtime and increasing operational efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of durable medical equipment.
- Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams, with a track record of improving performance and efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations, standards, and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and inventory management software.
- Certifications related to medical equipment repair or maintenance (e.g., CBET, CRES).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic and repair tools specific to durable medical equipment.
- Experience with electronic testing equipment and software for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and Lean Six Sigma principles is a plus.
