Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Electro-Mechanical and Mechatronics Technologist to join our innovative engineering team. In this critical role, you will lead the design and development of advanced electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic products, driving technical excellence and innovative solutions to meet complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
Design and Development:
- Lead the architecture and design of electro-mechanical systems, ensuring robust functionality and reliability
- Utilize simulation tools to model and analyze system performance, identifying potential improvements and optimizations
- Oversee the development of prototypes and manage the transition from concept to production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Technical Leadership:
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Conduct design reviews and provide critical feedback to enhance product quality and performance
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in electro-mechanical and mechatronic fields, integrating best practices into existing processes
Project Management:
- Lead project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products
- Manage stakeholder communication and expectations, providing regular updates on project status and milestones
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical design and mechatronics, with a proven track record of successful product development
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB)
- Strong understanding of control systems, robotics, and automation technologies
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the development of consumer electronics, industrial automation, or automotive systems
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or LabVIEW for system integration
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
- Professional certifications in project management or engineering (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of electro-mechanical system design principles and mechatronic architectures
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing of electro-mechanical systems
- Proficient in using diagnostics tools and equipment for troubleshooting and optimization
