Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Ecological Modeler to lead our advanced ecological modeling efforts at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field with a strong focus on ecological modeling.
- 8+ years of experience in ecological modeling, including experience with dynamic systems modeling and spatial modeling techniques.
- Proficient in programming languages such as R, Python, or MATLAB for model development and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present complex information to diverse audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience with large-scale ecological datasets and familiarity with GIS tools for spatial analysis.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in ecological modeling.
- Track record of successful grant writing and project management in ecological research.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of ecological principles, biostatistics, and systems modeling.
- Experience with modeling software such as Ecopath with Ecosim, NetLogo, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in data visualization tools to effectively communicate model results.
