Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Distribution Center Supervisor to support the operational leadership of our distribution center. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing logistics operations, ensuring efficiency in inventory management, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain inventory accuracy and oversee the receipt and shipment of goods.
- Implement and uphold safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor performance metrics and assist in developing strategies for process improvements.
- Lead training and development initiatives for staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Act as a liaison between staff and upper management, providing updates on operational challenges and workforce needs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics operations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
- Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in distribution environments.
