Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Dispatch Supervisor to lead and optimize our dispatch operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient coordination of transportation resources, managing a team of dispatchers, and implementing best practices that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of dispatchers, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Oversee the daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient routing of vehicles and resources.
- Implement data-driven strategies to optimize dispatch processes and enhance service levels.
- Coordinate with drivers and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and ensure smooth execution of logistics plans.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on dispatch performance for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the dispatch process.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a dispatch or logistics role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven track record of managing teams and improving operational efficiencies.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Preferred:
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools, including TMS and GPS tracking systems.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to drive operational improvements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
