Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Dental Secretary to manage administrative functions in our dental practice. In this fully remote role, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations, supporting our dental team, and providing exceptional service to our patients. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment and enhance the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Lead a team of administrative staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
- Act as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Implement and maintain efficient office procedures and workflows to optimize productivity and enhance patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and treatment
- Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a dental administrative role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
- Thorough understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols
- Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric approach
Preferred:
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Certification as a dental assistant or similar professional qualification
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar
- Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools
- Familiarity with insurance billing software and electronic claims submissions
