Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dairy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead and enhance our maintenance operations in a fully remote capacity. In this critical role, you will oversee the maintenance of dairy processing equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our production facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all dairy processing equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment issues, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Collaborate with production management to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to equipment maintenance and safety.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation, utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools where applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and reduce downtime.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management, specifically in the dairy or food processing industry.
- Strong understanding of dairy processing equipment, including pasteurizers, separators, homogenizers, and packaging machinery.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience in diagnosing equipment failures.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve maintenance processes.
- Certifications in maintenance management or related fields.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems in dairy processing.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using CMMS for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis and thermography.
