Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Crating and Moving Estimation Manager to lead our estimation team in delivering accurate and efficient cost assessments for moving and crating services. This role is crucial in ensuring that we meet client expectations while maintaining our commitment to operational excellence and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimation team in developing comprehensive and competitive quotes for crating and moving projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and organizational standards.
- Analyze project requirements and constraints, providing insights to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to refine estimation processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and pricing strategies, adapting estimates to maintain competitiveness.
- Mentor and train junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Utilize estimation software and tools to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in project estimation within the moving and crating industry or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in estimates and project documentation.
Preferred:
- Experience with estimation software and tools specific to the moving industry.
- Background in operations management or logistics.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in estimation tools and software such as RSMeans or similar.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
