Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Crate Building Supervisor to lead our operations in building high-quality crates for various applications. This role will require you to drive efficiency, ensure adherence to safety standards, and promote best practices in crate construction, all while fostering a collaborative team environment. As a Crate Building Supervisor, you will play a key role in optimizing our production processes and maintaining our commitment to quality and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily crate building operations, ensuring production goals are met in a timely manner
- Implement and uphold safety standards and best practices across the production floor
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop innovative crate designs that meet customer specifications
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to ensure the timely availability of materials
- Analyze production metrics and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Conduct regular quality inspections and address any issues promptly to maintain product standards
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in crate or packaging production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of materials used in crate construction and knowledge of production techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and manage performance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in production management software and tools
Preferred:
- Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with automated production systems
- Previous experience in a remote or hybrid work environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using production management software and tools
- Knowledge of automated crate building machinery
- Understanding of quality control processes and metrics
