Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Lead Court Transcriber to join our innovative team. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing court proceedings, ensuring a high level of precision and adherence to legal standards. You will lead a team of transcriptionists, providing guidance, training, and oversight to ensure timely and quality outputs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the transcription of court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards
- Lead and mentor a team of transcriptionists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement best practices for court transcription processes
- Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Collaborate with legal professionals to understand specific requirements and nuances of cases
- Utilize transcription software effectively to enhance productivity and quality
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in court transcription or related field
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures
- Exceptional typing skills with a minimum of 80 words per minute
- Proficient in transcription software and tools
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred:
- Experience leading a team or prior supervisory experience
- Familiarity with legal document management systems
- Certification in court reporting or transcription
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience with transcription software such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking or similar
- Understanding of audio editing tools
