Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Court Stenographer to join our dynamic team, responsible for providing accurate and efficient transcription services in a variety of legal settings. Responsibilities
- Lead the transcription of court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Utilize state-of-the-art stenographic equipment and software to produce real-time transcripts.
- Review and edit transcripts for clarity, completeness, and grammatical accuracy.
- Collaborate with judges, attorneys, and other legal professionals to facilitate effective communication during proceedings.
- Train and mentor junior stenographers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all documentation practices.
- Stay current with developments in court reporting technology and legal transcription best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a court stenographer with a proven track record of accurate and timely transcriptions.
- Certification as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or equivalent is required.
- Proficient in using stenographic machines and related software.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court reporting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy in all work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specialized areas of court reporting such as criminal, civil, or family law.
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems and legal documentation management.

- Expertise in stenographic and transcription software, including but not limited to CaseCAT, Eclipse, or similar.
- Proficiency in real-time captioning and transcription techniques.
- Knowledge of audio recording systems and transcription technology.
