Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Court Recording Monitor to oversee the recording processes within our judicial system. This pivotal role requires a meticulous individual who can ensure that all court proceedings are captured accurately and efficiently, while also leading a team of recording monitors and collaborating closely with court personnel to uphold the integrity of the judicial process.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of court recording monitors, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring adherence to legal standards.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of recording equipment, ensuring all technology is functional and compliant with court regulations.
- Coordinate with judges, attorneys, and court staff to schedule recordings and address any technical issues in real-time.
- Review recorded materials for accuracy, ensuring that transcripts are readily available and that all recordings are securely archived.
- Implement improvements to recording processes and technology, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of court audio and video documentation.
- Conduct regular training sessions for new and existing staff on recording protocols and equipment usage.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in court recording or a similar field, with a demonstrated understanding of legal proceedings.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with familiarity in operating audio and video recording systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience with digital transcription software and audio editing tools.
- Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology.
- Certification in court reporting or related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
