Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced County Bailiff to join our legal enforcement team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing court orders, ensuring compliance with legal mandates, and maintaining the integrity of the judicial process. Your expertise will be critical in managing various enforcement activities related to civil and criminal matters.
Responsibilities
- Execute court orders, including eviction notices, wage garnishments, and property seizures, with a focus on adherence to legal protocols
- Serve legal documents and summons in accordance with established procedures
- Conduct investigations to locate individuals and assets relevant to court orders
- Maintain accurate records of all enforcement actions taken, ensuring compliance with evidence and reporting standards
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and legal representatives to facilitate the enforcement process
- Attend court hearings as necessary to provide testimony and support legal proceedings
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience as a bailiff or in a similar legal enforcement role
- In-depth knowledge of legal processes and court procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls under pressure
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Experience working within a county or government agency
- Familiarity with civil and criminal law
- Certification or training in conflict resolution and negotiation
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using case management software and legal databases
- Strong data entry and documentation skills
- Experience with electronic filing systems and legal research tools
