Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant County Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel on a variety of issues impacting county operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. You will work closely with county officials and departments to deliver sound legal advice, represent the county in legal proceedings, and contribute to the overall mission of serving the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to county officials and departments on diverse legal matters, including contracts, real estate, employment, and public policy.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, resolutions, and ordinances.
- Represent the county in administrative hearings and court proceedings, ensuring the best interests of the county are upheld.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, and opinions on complex legal issues.
- Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including ethical considerations and risk management.
- Collaborate with external counsel as necessary to manage litigation and other legal matters.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
