Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Meeting Planning to lead our comprehensive meeting and event planning initiatives. This role will be instrumental in crafting exceptional experiences that align with our organizational goals while ensuring operational excellence and budget adherence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for meeting planning that aligns with the overall goals of the organization.
- Lead a team of meeting planners and coordinators, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance their professional development and performance.
- Oversee the planning and execution of all corporate meetings and events, ensuring they meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, venues, and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure quality service delivery.
- Utilize data and feedback to continuously improve meeting experiences, focusing on attendee engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for all events.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to innovate and elevate the meeting planning process.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in event planning or meeting management, with a focus on corporate meetings and events.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong project management skills, including experience managing budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in the technology sector or a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Certification from a recognized event planning organization (e.g., CMP, CMM).
- Familiarity with event management software and tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
- Experience with virtual event platforms and technologies.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate event performance metrics and ROI.
