Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Clinical Pharmacy to lead our clinical pharmacy operations and drive innovative patient care initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy programs, ensuring optimal medication management and therapeutic outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical pharmacy team, providing strategic direction and oversight of clinical pharmacy services
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy protocols, policies, and procedures to enhance patient care and medication management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and evaluate medication therapy management programs
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and promote evidence-based medication use
- Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes related to pharmacotherapy and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous professional development by mentoring and training pharmacy staff
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards
- Engage in research and clinical trials to advance the field of pharmacy practice
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience in clinical pharmacy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy, clinical guidelines, and medication management practices
- Proven ability to develop and implement clinical programs that improve patient outcomes
- Active pharmacy licensure in the applicable state
Preferred:
- Board certification in a relevant pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCGP)
- Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical decision support tools
- Demonstrated involvement in research or clinical trials
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in pharmacotherapeutics and clinical guidelines
- Proficiency with medication management software and electronic health records
- Familiarity with clinical data analysis and outcome measurement tools
