Role Overview
We are in search of a visionary Director of Choral Activities to lead our dynamic choral program. This role involves not only overseeing the artistic direction and educational framework but also fostering a vibrant community that inspires passion for choral music among students and stakeholders alike. Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum for choral activities, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular rehearsals and performances, utilizing your expertise to elevate the artistic quality of the choir.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, administration, and community partners to promote and support choral initiatives.
- Recruit, mentor, and guide choral staff, fostering professional development and artistic growth.
- Manage budgets, fundraising efforts, and resources to ensure the sustainability of choral programs.
- Engage with students and their families to cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Music Education, Choral Conducting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in choral directing, preferably in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conducting diverse choral ensembles.
- Strong knowledge of vocal techniques and choral repertoire across various genres.
Preferred:
- Experience with community engagement and outreach programs.
- Familiarity with digital platforms for remote learning and engagement.
- Ability to foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the arts and education landscape.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in music notation software (e.g., Finale, Sibelius) and digital audio workstations (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton).
- Experience with virtual rehearsal technologies and platforms for remote teaching.
- Strong skills in music theory, composition, and arrangement.
