Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance the use of electronic health records (EHR) and other health information technologies.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of clinical information systems that improve workflows and patient outcomes.
- Oversee the development of clinical decision support tools that facilitate evidence-based practices and enhance patient safety.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clinical leaders, ensuring alignment between IT initiatives and clinical needs.
- Drive data governance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to health information management.
- Mentor and lead a team of health informatics professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with a strong clinical background.
- 5+ years of experience in medical informatics or health information technology.
- Demonstrated experience in leading EHR implementations and optimization efforts.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and data management best practices.
Preferred:
- Board certification in a medical specialty.
- Experience with data analytics and population health management.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance standards.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Proficiency with health information exchange (HIE) standards and protocols.
- Knowledge of clinical decision support systems and health analytics tools.
- Experience with interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
