Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Lead Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our innovative therapy team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of occupational therapy assistants, ensuring delivery of evidence-based care in accordance with established protocols
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Conduct patient evaluations and contribute to progress reports, documenting outcomes and adjustments to treatment plans
- Train and mentor therapy assistants in best practices, therapeutic techniques, and patient engagement strategies
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment approaches as necessary, and maintain comprehensive documentation of therapy sessions
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and optimize outcomes
- Participate in outreach programs and community events to promote occupational therapy awareness and services
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a valid state license
- 5+ years of experience in occupational therapy, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic interventions, patient assessment, and treatment planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for patient advocacy
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation
- Specialization in pediatric or geriatric therapy practices
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using EHR systems and telehealth platforms for patient management
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines and standards in occupational therapy
