Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Census Supervisor to lead our census operations team. This role is essential in overseeing the planning, execution, and analysis of census activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection processes. You will play a critical role in shaping the data-driven decisions that impact our organization's objectives and community outreach initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of field agents, providing guidance, training, and performance assessments to ensure high-quality data collection and adherence to protocols.
- Develop and implement operational plans for census activities, including timelines, resource allocation, and logistical arrangements.
- Monitor data collection progress, ensuring compliance with established standards and addressing any discrepancies or challenges that arise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish effective outreach strategies, enhancing participation and engagement within the community.
- Analyze collected data for accuracy and completeness, preparing reports and presenting findings to senior management.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate updates, share best practices, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data collection or survey administration, with a focus on supervisory or leadership roles.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
Preferred:
- Experience working with census or demographic data.
- Familiarity with statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, or R.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities and build trust.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of data collection methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
