Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cement Truck Driver to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Drive cement trucks to and from job sites, maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of cement truck drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure operational safety and compliance with maintenance standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and dispatch to deliver concrete as per schedule while managing unexpected delays effectively.
- Ensure accurate documentation of delivery tickets and maintain comprehensive records of vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Implement best practices for safety and efficiency, including the proper handling of materials and adherence to environmental regulations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- 5+ years of experience driving cement trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Strong understanding of concrete mixing and delivery processes.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team management or supervision.
Preferred:
- Experience with various types of cement mixers including rear discharge and front discharge mixers.
- Familiarity with GPS and routing software to optimize delivery routes.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating heavy machinery and cement trucks.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) for tracking compliance and hours of service.
