Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Ferry Master to lead our innovative ferry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable maritime transport solutions. As the Chief Ferry Master, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our ferry services, from strategic planning and regulatory compliance to team leadership and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and enhance service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ferry operators and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Collaborate with government agencies, stakeholders, and community partners to promote ferry services and address operational challenges.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of ferry vessels, ensuring they meet industry standards and operational needs.
- Analyze operational data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in maritime operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in ferry operations.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operational logistics.
Preferred:
- Experience with sustainable maritime practices and innovations.
- Strong network within the maritime industry and experience working with regulatory bodies.
- Advanced certifications in maritime management or related fields.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in maritime navigation systems, vessel management software, and safety compliance technologies.
- Experience with data analysis tools to interpret operational performance and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies to lead initiatives from conception to execution.
