Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Registry Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of cancer registry operations. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of cancer data, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and contributing to groundbreaking cancer research initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the cancer registry, ensuring adherence to established protocols and timelines
- Lead the data collection and abstraction processes, ensuring high data quality and integrity
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with national standards and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless integration of cancer data into health information systems
- Provide ongoing education and training to registry staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on cancer statistics to internal and external stakeholders
- Engage in research initiatives and collaborations with medical professionals to support cancer-related studies and projects
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in health information management, public health, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in cancer registry management or a related area
- Deep understanding of cancer staging, treatment protocols, and data management best practices
- Certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is required
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and cancer registry software
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data visualization tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in cancer registry software (e.g., SEER, NCRA)
- Experience with relational database management and data reporting tools
- Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and AJCC
