Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Assistant Building Trades Instructor to support the development and delivery of our building trades curriculum. This role will involve collaborating with seasoned instructors to enhance the learning experience for students, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to excel in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and assessment of building trades programs that meet industry standards
- Facilitate engaging and informative online learning sessions, utilizing various digital tools and platforms
- Provide support to students in mastering technical skills, safety protocols, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with lead instructors to develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support their professional development
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in building trades to ensure curriculum relevance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as construction, carpentry, or building trades
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the building trades sector
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction methodologies
Preferred:
- Experience in teaching or training, particularly in a virtual or remote setting
- Certifications in relevant trades (e.g., OSHA, NCCER) are a plus
- Proficiency in educational technology tools to enhance the learning experience
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with online learning management systems (LMS) and virtual classroom platforms
- Basic knowledge of construction software and tools commonly used in the industry
- Ability to create and utilize multimedia instructional materials
