Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled BMET Manager to lead our Biomedical Equipment Maintenance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing equipment performance across the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within our team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Biomedical Equipment Maintenance team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance in equipment management and repair.
- Develop and implement maintenance protocols and schedules to ensure all medical equipment is compliant with safety and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and prioritize equipment repair requests, coordinating with clinical staff to minimize downtime and enhance patient care.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers for equipment procurement and service contracts.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate training and development programs for team members to enhance technical skills and knowledge of biomedical equipment.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to biomedical engineering.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of medical device regulations and compliance standards.
- Proven experience in managing technical teams and improving operational efficiencies.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and asset management software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of medical equipment, including imaging systems, surgical devices, and patient monitoring systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex biomedical equipment issues.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and risk management processes.
