Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Auto Carrier Supervisor to oversee our logistics operations related to the transportation of vehicles. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, managing the carrier network, and enhancing our service delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of auto carriers, ensuring strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Manage relationships with carriers, negotiating contracts and service agreements to optimize transportation costs and service quality.
- Monitor the performance of carriers, conducting regular evaluations and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of transportation metrics, including delivery times, costs, and service issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and inventory management, to streamline operations and address service challenges.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with all transportation laws and practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or transportation management, with a focus on auto carriers.
- Proven track record of managing carrier relationships and optimizing transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the transportation industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex logistics scenarios.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience with logistics software and tools for tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and technology trends in vehicle transportation.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in logistics management software and data analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management solutions.
