Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Athletic Training to lead our athletic training program and ensure the highest standards of care and performance for our athletes. This role will involve strategic oversight of all athletic training operations, including the development and implementation of training programs, injury prevention strategies, and rehabilitation protocols, while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee comprehensive athletic training programs that support the health, safety, and performance of athletes
- Lead a team of athletic trainers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and administration to develop injury prevention and management strategies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and best practices in athletic training
- Conduct and supervise assessments of athlete health and performance, utilizing data to inform training and rehabilitation protocols
- Develop and implement continuing education programs for staff and athletes regarding injury prevention and health maintenance
- Manage budgets, procurement of supplies, and resource allocation to optimize athletic training services
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential and state licensure
- 5+ years of experience in athletic training, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing injury prevention and rehabilitation programs
- Strong understanding of sports science and performance optimization strategies
Preferred:
- Experience in a collegiate or professional athletic environment
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in athletic training
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in sports injury assessment and rehabilitation techniques
- Experience with data management systems for athlete health tracking
