Role Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Clinical Athletic Instruction to lead our clinical athletic training initiatives. This role will be pivotal in shaping our instructional methodologies, ensuring that our athletic instruction programs are both clinically relevant and aligned with best practices in sports medicine. You will drive the development of curriculum and training programs, while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of clinical athletic instruction programs that meet the needs of diverse populations
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of athletic instruction staff
- Establish partnerships with healthcare professionals to ensure the integration of clinical practices into athletic instruction
- Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make data-driven improvements
- Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure financial sustainability
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and continuous improvement within the athletic instruction community
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in athletic instruction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of clinical practices and their application in athletic training
- Experience in curriculum development and staff training
Preferred:
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field
- Certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) and/or other relevant certifications
- Experience with grant writing and funding acquisition for athletic programs
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using data management systems to analyze program outcomes
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical software tools
- Knowledge of emerging trends in sports medicine and athletic training technologies
