Role Overview
We are seeking an Executive Athletic Director to lead our athletic programs and initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation. This role will oversee all aspects of our athletic department, including strategic planning, budget management, and program development, ensuring alignment with our mission to promote athletic success and student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the athletic department that supports institutional goals and enhances the student-athlete experience.
- Oversee budget preparation and management to ensure financial sustainability and effective allocation of resources across all athletic programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including coaches, student-athletes, parents, alumni, and community partners, to foster collaboration and support.
- Lead recruitment, training, and professional development of coaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and mentorship for student-athletes.
- Monitor and assess program performance, utilizing metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement and excellence.
- Advocate for equity and diversity within the athletic department, ensuring all programs are inclusive and accessible to all students.
- Represent the athletic department at conferences, meetings, and events, advocating for student-athlete interests and promoting our programs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in athletics administration.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA regulations and compliance.
Preferred:
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a collegiate athletic program.
- Proven track record of enhancing athletic program visibility and revenue generation.
- Experience building partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics to inform decision-making.
- Familiarity with sports management software and digital tools for program administration.
- Experience with fundraising and development strategies to enhance program support.
