Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance (Aviation) to lead our maintenance department, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations while optimizing operational efficiency and safety. In this strategic role, you will oversee maintenance activities across multiple locations, implementing best practices and driving continuous improvement in our aviation maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of all maintenance tasks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable aviation regulations and standards.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate maintenance performance and drive improvements.
- Manage budgets, forecasting maintenance costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Ensure the integration of advanced technologies and methodologies within the maintenance department to enhance operational efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (FAA, EASA, etc.) and their application in maintenance operations.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale maintenance operations and leading teams effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
Preferred:
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Certifications such as A&P (Airframe and Powerplant), PMP (Project Management Professional), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance management systems (AMMS) and other relevant software tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience in implementing and managing maintenance tracking systems.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools to monitor performance and compliance.
