Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Instrument Technician Supervisor to lead our team of skilled technicians in maintaining and repairing complex aircraft instrumentation systems. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft operations, while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of aircraft instrument technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft instrument systems, including avionics, sensors, and cockpit displays.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of team members.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex instrumentation issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring that necessary resources are available for timely repairs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft instrumentation maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Thorough understanding of aircraft instrument systems and avionics technology.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
Preferred:
- Experience with both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards in aviation.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting aircraft instruments.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance software and electronic record-keeping systems.
