Zap is looking for a Payments Manager who can work with both our internal teams and our clients to unblock issues and drive growth. You’ll be friendly, analytical and outgoing - acting as a key technical resource and point of contact between Zap and key clients. This role involves technical analysis of our in-house payment gateway, onboarding of new businesses, diagnosing issues, supporting clients, and driving operational performance.

What you’ll be up to:
- Payments Expert: You will become the payments expert within the business, becoming the go-to person for internal teams and clients
- Data Analysis: You’ll analyse Zap Pay’s tools and recommend improvements to our development teams
- Onboarding: You’ll help onboard our new clients, submitting applications and then working with Acquirers and our in-house support teams to monitor the transition period
- Problem Solving: Address any issues or concerns raised by clients promptly and effectively
Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between clients and Zap, engaging the necessary internal teams where appropriate and ensuring communication in both directions is open and transparent
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
We’re after someone who’s ready to jump in headfirst and get their hands dirty. Experience is great, but attitude is everything. Here’s what we’re keen on:
- At least two years experience in a support based or technical role within the payments industry
- Understanding of payments eco-system and terminology
- Technical experience of working with gateway plug-ins, APIs, WooCommerce and WordPress
- Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders both informed and uninformed (Acquirers, Development Teams, Support Teams, Account Managers and clients)
- Analytical mindset with ability to review data, diagnose problems and recommend fixes
- A strategic thinker who can understand long term goals and devise plans to help Zap achieve them
- A self-starter with exceptional organisational skills
- A willingness to learn all about Zap products and services as well as other complex industry topics
- Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Laravel and the Open Banking and Acquiring industries is a plus

- Salary is £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
- Company Bonus 10% of salary once company goals are met or at the company’s discretion
