Summary

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure within a fast-paced product development environment. This role is essential for ensuring that all infrastructure deployments are secure, cost-effective, and scalable. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, coding infrastructure efficiently, building self-service tools to empower engineering teams, and driving the continuous improvement of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Professional Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering roles

  • Proven experience working in high-growth environments, architecting and managing scalable cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP)

  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines

  • Track record of building self-service infrastructure tools and partnering closely with cross-functional development and security teams

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, implement, and review infrastructure change requests submitted by development teams, ensuring safe and secure execution

  • Design and build robust self-service tools to facilitate seamless infrastructure modifications for engineering teams

  • Drive continuous optimization, cost-efficiency, and performance improvement of the GCP infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues rapidly, ensuring maximum system stability and reliability

  • Enhance and maintain software delivery pipeline efficiency across the engineering organization

  • Partner with and mentor internal teams on infrastructure best practices, architectural options, and capabilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Security team to execute infrastructure-related security projects and enforce compliance guardrails

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience in several of the following areas:

  • Cloud Architecture: Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture and cloud environments

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced expertise in Terraform, including writing and refactoring code into reusable modules and safely importing existing resources

  • Containers & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deploying workloads and effective debugging

  • CI/CD & Delivery: Proficient in implementing and managing automated CI/CD pipelines

  • Observability: Solid experience with various modern monitoring, logging, and alerting tools

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Istio Service Mesh, leveraging its features to address and resolve development challenges

  • Hands-on experience with ArgoCD and writing/refining Helm charts

  • Experience building and maintaining pipelines using GitHub Actions

Soft Skills
  • Advanced English proficiency

  • Great communication, mentoring, and negotiation skills

  • Strong technical support skills and a customer-centric mindset towards internal teams

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities

  • Proactive mindset with an openness to continuously learn and adopt new technologies
