Job Title: Senior Analyst - Physical Retail Workforce Management (WFM)
Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Retail Workforce Management (WFM) Analyst to support a key function within the Field Enablement Team that will further the organization’s physical retail strategy. This role will be an integral part of the Physical Retail Team supporting the playbook to stand up and scale stores in North America across Wayfair’s Brands.
The Retail Workforce Management (WFM) Analyst will be responsible for optimizing labor resources to ensure efficient operations within our retail organization. You will utilize analytical tools and techniques to forecast, schedule, and monitor workforce activities, contributing to the overall productivity and profitability of the retail business.
You will work across the team and with cross-functional partners (e.g., operations, finance, talent) to implement strategies that align with business goals while focusing on customer satisfaction and employee well-being.
This role is remote and reports to the Head of Field Enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce Planning:
- Utilize historical data, trends, and demand forecasts to develop accurate staffing plans for different retail locations.
- Collaborate with store leadership to understand their operational needs and challenges.
- Create schedule templates that align with forecasted demand while ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and budgetary constraints.
- Partner with stakeholders to determine training and workload hours to support
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor productivity, sales per labor hour, and employee turnover to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to store leadership for optimizing workforce efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate workforce performance metrics and trends to stakeholders.
- Leverage workforce management software and tools to automate scheduling, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Continuously explore and implement new technologies to enhance workforce management capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and company policies related to scheduling, overtime, breaks, and timekeeping.
- Partner with talent and legal teams to address any compliance issues or employee concerns related to workforce management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, talent, and IT, to align workforce management strategies with broader business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with store leadership to ensure understanding and buy-in for scheduling decisions and operational changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Statistics, or related field.
- Previous experience in workforce management, retail operations, or analytics preferred.
- Proficiency in workforce management software (e.g., Kronos, Workday, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
- Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight and stakes are high
