Software Engineer (DevEx-LLM Focus)

Wave is a FinTech company aiming to provide financial services to the unbanked in Africa, aiming for a cashless continent. They are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop AI-powered tools to improve internal workflows. This is a first-of-its-kind hire for this role, focused on LLM-powered tooling and integrating AI into the engineering process. The role involves prototyping, building tools, and partnering with multiple teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven hands-on experience building with LLMs or NLP systems.
• Strong programming skills (Python strongly preferred).
• Experience deploying and monitoring services in cloud environments.
• Fluency in English (French is a bonus).
• Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or internal developer tooling
