Our mission

We're making Africa the first cashless continent.

In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that's where you come in...

How you'll help us achieve it

Wave is seeking an HR Systems Analyst to help us implement our new HRIS and scale our people technology infrastructure. We’re looking for someone who is excited about solving complex technical challenges in a high-growth fintech environment.

    • This will require you to build an in-depth knowledge of our existing processes and data sources, and ensure as much continuity as possible while advising on minimizing interruptions to ongoing operations, and providing a seamless user transition.
  • Configure and customize pre-mapped processes and workflows within the new HRIS to ensure compliance across policies.

Providing core HR Systems support

    • Track adherence to and identify deviation from established processes and policies
  • Analyzing HR Systems workflows and setups to recommend improvements, specifically in reducing manual or duplicated efforts and increasing automation across systems.
  • Supporting anticipated system migrations and integrations in our Talent Management, Workforce Management, and Payroll systems, amongst others.
  • Overseeing system upgrades, patches, and testing to ensure seamless functionality when any of our HR Systems issue updates or patches.
  • Training HR team members and end-users on HRIS functionalities and updates.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support.

Driving our HR Data Management and Reporting Quality projects

  • Ensuring our HRIS data quality project is running smoothly by managing stakeholder relationships across all of our HR, Talent and Payroll teams.
  • Replicating data quality projects across all HR Systems to ensure the same data quality standards from our HRIS are used consistently. Conducting audits to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Expanding data quality projects into strategic dashboards or reporting that can support HR and Business decision-making, in particular linking performance and learning data.
  • Managing data privacy and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable regulations.

We're on a mission to make Africa the first cashless continent. On a continent where over half the population has no bank account, Wave is building the first modern financial network — no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere! We're building life-changing financial infrastructure. When mobile money succeeded in Kenya, it lifted about a million people out of poverty. And yet, over 10 years later, most Africans still lack access to affordable ways to save, transfer or borrow the money they need to build businesses or provide for their families. Wave is solving this problem by using technology to build a radically inclusive and extremely affordable financial network. Every day here brings more “firsts” as our users build the economy of tomorrow.

Our co-founders, Drew Durbin and Lincoln Quirk, met as hallmates freshman year. They became friends over a shared love of building simple products that make a social impact. First, they built Sendwave, now the largest digital remittance company to Africa. Next, they turned their attention to Wave with the mission to bring digital finance to everyone in Africa. In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. In 2019, we expanded to Cote D'Ivoire. Now, we have millions of users and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that's where you come in. We're a fully remote team so you can work on a life-changing mission from anywhere in the world. We maximize our rate of learning. We're always iterating on our personal goals and habits to become more effective and happier. Most importantly, we do this fast. The faster we run these loops—as a company and individuals—the faster we'll achieve our mission.
