Summary:

In this role, you will provide support to the Jefferson Health Pharmacy Resources Team to achieve savings goals for our member projects. You will actively participate in the implementation and execution of Multi-Network Portfolio contracts and apply pharmaceutical consulting and analytics to support the work. You will support service areas within consulting to include projects, business development, contract adherence and negotiations. You will conduct pricing analysis against competitive intelligence to identify contract conversion analysis for participating members and provide opportunities for standardization.

The ideal candidate for this role will be working in the Philadelphia area with a large integrated delivery network health-system.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Participating Members’ leadership teams on initiatives and projects, including benchmarking activities, workflow optimization, and evaluation of financial opportunities.

  • Develop and manage projects/initiatives for health care organizations targeting contracting and clinical utilization opportunities as well as innovative strategies to reduce cost through aggregated contracting and operational efficiency.

  • Provide oversight of the pharmacy revenue cycle, including charge capture and coding, reimbursement/denials, and process improvement.

  • Work with pharmacy distributor and pharmacy procurement teams to assist and improve pharmacy contract load across Participating Members’ enterprises.

  • Review all classes of trade and individual contracts to identify contract opportunities including 340B and help update/maintain Network contracting resources.

  • Monitor contracts for pharmacy services, including assessment of contract compliance (purchase levels and market-share requirements) and rebates, evaluation of expiring contracts, and participate in negotiation of new agreements.

  • Prepare presentations and dashboards for multiple audiences as directed pertaining to the health and operations of pharmacy services.

  • Determine whether Participating Members have signed and executed Letters of Participation/Commitment (LOPs/LOCs) Letters of Participation/Commitment for best pricing based on historical activity.

  • Identify potential “super-system” or “super-tier” aggregation/tier target opportunities for products with existing contracts.

  • Monitor local and national drug shortages and assist with implementation tactics, including Novaplus, Novaplus Enhance Supply, Failure to Supply, bulk buy, and purchasing strategies, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant consulting experience in a pharmaceutical environment required.

  • Background in hospital/retail/specialty pharmacy purchasing required.

  • Competency in pharmacy consulting, 340B, Group Purchasing Organization/contracts, product/pricing data analysis required.

  • Pharmaceutical market knowledge and financial modeling, pharmacy revenue integrity/pharmacy revenue cycle experience required.

  • Ability to work with C-suite and Executive leaders required.

  • Experience using Excel and Access required.

  • Understanding of medication packaging, pharmaceutical strengths, dosage forms, and routes of administration preferred.

  • Experience managing performance improvement projects or work streams in complex initiatives preferred.

  • Experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities is desired.

  • Knowledge of SQL/SQL Server/VBA desired.

  • 340B Certification strongly desired.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.
